If you’re planning an exterior renovation for your home, choosing a new color scheme can be exciting and intimidating. You don’t want to make a mistake with something that you’ll be looking at for years, even decades to come. Here are a few you may want to consider for your home’s exterior renovation.

Deep Greys

Rather than the pale grey that is the norm on older homes throughout Nashville and Knoxville, we’re seeing many more stormy greys. Pair a deep grey with a navy or even a cream and you’ll have a modern and stunning home.

Black

The exterior renovation trend of black began with black replacement windows. However, for homeowners not wanting to replace their windows, black accent siding is growing in popularity. Add a rich medium grey, like Pearl Gray or Timber Bark from James Hardie® siding and you’ll have a home with a modern and rich look.

Cream

Although white is still an option for any home’s exterior as it gives a clean appearance, today’s designers are leaving the stark contrast of white and choosing creams and softer tones. Pair a soft cream like Navajo Beige with Rich Espresso from James Hardie and you’ll have great contrast and a home that looks rich.

What About Roofing

Roofing comes in many more colors than ever before. Although you can still choose a completely solid single-color shingle, most homeowners choose architectural shingles. Architectural shingles come in color blends rather than a solid color. Our recommendation is to look at the colors in your home and choose something that compliments it. If you have a lot of color in your home, choose a neutral roof. If you have a monochrome or neutral colored home, consider something with a bit more color.
